Tayshaun Prince To Face Deng Luol
When the Detroit Pistons and the Chicago Bulls series happens, the key match up will be between Tayshaun Prince and Luol Deng.
Already Prince showed his displeasure when he was questioned about Deng just two days before Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinal.
Deng averaged 26.3 points in the first round when the Bulls swept away defending champions Miami Heat while in the playoffs, Prince slowed stars like Tracy McGrady, Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.
At 6 foot 9 and 215 pounds, Prince uses his long arms, instincts and experience to ensure that top scorers of teams struggle to get past him. Teammate Rasheed Wallace said that he was not worried about Prince and Deng match up because he knows what Prince was capable of.
Recently Prince was selected onto the NBAs All Defensive second team the third consecutive year.
Prince said that he was in the second team because he plays just defense and not in situation to get lot of steals and blocks which the players selected for the first team do.
For the third season in a row, Prince played all 82 games and had 55 blocks and 51 steals. Statistics from the four game regular season prove that Prince and Dengs match up would decide which team ends up going to the conference finals.
Scott Skiles, Chicago coach, has a lot of respect for Prince. He said that Prince was long, athletic and smart. His thin stature defies the strength that people credit him for.
While Pistons coach Flip Saunders said that the match up was important to both the Bulls and Pistons. He further added that Prince was one of those players who did not wilt under pressure. In fact, Prince plays better under pressure.
